Bad and unfortunate events happen in life. It’s unavoidable because we’re human, and we’re here to learn. One of the biggest lies perpetuated in the personal development and self-help industry is that we must be happy all the time and reject the negative. This perspective is not only counter-intuitive, but extreme destructive.
Here’s a podcast episode I recorded on this subject to help clarify. For the best podcast listening experience, download it via iTunes here.

For instance, when I share quotes or images on Instagram that are super positive, there are always one or two people who are not in the mood for unicorns and rainbows because they feel as if their lives are pretty shitty right now. It totally get it.
Let me explain a little further to give you an example…
So I shared this quote on Instagram:
You know the deal. It’s a kind of bubblegummy, sugar-coated, inspire-y, uplift-y, feel good kind of statement. Within 20 minutes over 300 people had liked and commented on this post. Then there was one lady who responded and said:
“Not true. I’ve been asking for years and all I get is the opposite of what I asked for. I used to believe it could happen. No one asks to lose their job, or their home, or for a loved one to die, or for bad things to happen – but it keeps on happening! So how does that fit into your manifestation plan?”
It was one of those “slap in the face” comments that I LOVE. My heart sank a little and I decided to see it as a teaching opportunity. Some teachers might not like being questioned like this, but my mission is to break people through to another level and layer of awareness.
I responded:
“Life is a beautiful dance between joy and disappointment. The great news is that we get to choose how to respond to anything that happens. We must allow ourselves to grieve if we need to, and celebrate when we need to as well. The “manifestation plan” is to embrace the wholeness of life. It’s not all unicorns and rainbows, that’s for sure!”
You see, The Universe is training us to be comfortable with whatever shows up in our lives. When “Shit” hits the fan, it’s all part of the plan. Every event in your life is contributing to your overall life adventure. Life is presented to you in seasons. You might be in a season of struggle. You might be in a season of success. Wherever you are on your journey, just know that you are not alone and there is a Divine purpose in whatever you’re going through right now.
In order to manifest more abundance into your life you need to be ready to SPARK a deeper connection with the Universe. If you’re ready to go on a spiritual adventure and quest then I would highly recommend my Ancient Manifesting Ritual. This will help to get out of your own way and help you to strengthen your intuition. xo
