How To Forgive Others And Find Peace Within Yourself

You may have already heard or read this about me, but I was married for 10 years to a man that hurt me – physically and emotionally. I did the same to him. We were something that I’m going to refer to as “shame-shifters”. We could hurl shame, blame, and “shoulds” faster than any gold-medal-winning Olympic discus thrower on Earth.

He was hurt, I was hurt.

Together we were a shitstorm of unfulfilled emotions and unfair expectations (even though there was love). You can watch the video here that has been viewed over 61 MILLION times.

It took me years to take full responsibility for my own feelings, emotions, actions and reactions to things during this time – it still pops up from time to time. I’m learning. However, the growth that has unfolded because of the willingness to examine my limiting patterns has been worth every single moment of pain over the years.

What I have been incredibly blessed to experience during this process of intense healing is the space that opens up in life when you are brave enough to let go of the past and forgive the main characters that wronged you.

Healing from this decade-long experiences was hard, beautiful, and unshakably rewarding in unimaginable ways. What I want to share with you today is 3 key ways you can begin the process of forgiveness for yourself – and it doesn’t have to take you 10 years like it did for me.

When you feel stuck, loop back to these three things and they will help to support you on your journey (bookmark this page).

  1. Remember you are human – you’re not supposed to be perfect or free of funky feelings. FEEL THE FEELINGS. It’s the only way through them to get back to a state of peace and balance.
  2. The past does not have to equal the future – just because you have been burned in the past, does not mean lightning will strike twice. The Universe sends you these sacred missions to become stronger, more resilient, and (hopefully) wiser as time unfolds.
  3. Open your heart to forgiveness – it’s easier said than done, but once you remember that life is for living and you don’t want to waste another day upset or hanging onto things that no longer serve you then you begin to shift your focus. Seek joy, seek peace, and TRUST that healing is possible.

If you feel stuck with some of your belief systems around possibilities and manifesting your best life then please register for my 21-Day Manifesting Challenge that begins on Jan 1, 2021. Together we are going to set powerful intentions that 2021 will be the best and most memorable year ever!
