The Meaning of Love

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Today is the day of celebrating LOVE and can be used as a powerful reminder that every single fricken’ day of the year is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the love you have for yourself or your beloved.

I’d like to share with you one of my all-time favorite love poems by the Sufi poet, Rumi. This one is dedicated to my twin-flame husband, Mr. Sean Patrick Simpson.

The Meaning of Love by Rumi

Both light and shadow

are the Dance of Love.

Love has no cause;

it is the astrolabe of God’s secrets.

Lover and Loving are inseparable

and timeless.

Although I may try to describe LOVE

when I experience it I am speechless.

Although I may try to write about LOVE

I am rendered helpless;

my pen breaks and the paper slips away

at the ineffable place

where Lover, Loving and Loved are one.

Every moment is made glorious

by the light of LOVE.

The words of this 13th-century Persian poet have inspired me so much over the years to remember the innate connection we have with the Divine within and that LOVE is the most powerful force in the Universe.

Whether you’re celebrating this Hallmark holiday or choosing to sit this one out, I honor you and send you LOVE from my heart to yours.
