Where has the time gone? It seems to have flown by at the speed of light! My life has changed radically over the last ten years, and I’m sure yours has too. That’s the nature of this beautiful life journey we’re all on together – that change is inevitable and time is a gift.
If you’d like to dive deeper into my journey I released a podcast episode titled: From Welfare to Creating A Million Dollar Business – a Decade In Review.
To ensure we launch into this sparkly new decade with a fresh, transformative and empowered perspective, let’s examine some creative ways we can release the past and begin 2020 with a clean slate.
Are you ready?
Here are 7 Ways to Release and Honor The Past to Move Forward Into A Fresh New Decade
1. Your soul is always growing
Past experiences (good, bad and ugly) happened because you learned something from it. Your subconscious mind is always servicing itself and The Universe is always working through you and for you. Things happen because they are meant to happen in the name of positive growth.
2. You did your best
You did your best with the resources you had. In order to release your past, it’s important to remember that sometimes we don’t have access to insight, wisdom, hindsight and perspective until we’re ready to receive it and embody it. Some people call it “grace” other people call it “timing.”
Every step of the journey though, we must hold the belief that we are using all of the tools we have access to with our consciousness.
3. Time heals
Emotional healing takes time. Just because life moved on doesn’t mean the hurt magically goes away. Time heals most wounds when the time is right. Life moves us forward and we realize one day that the triggers and wounds hurt a little less.
4. Declutter the momentos
Are you single and still holding onto old mementos of old flames? That band t-shirt that belonged to your highschool boyfriend?
Things and sentimental items hold energy and sometimes the energy field of momentos can block new energy from entering into your magnificent present moment. Keep what is super-special and ditch the rest or take photos of it for your records.
5. Forgiveness will set you free
It will! The real secret to manifesting a life you desire and is to see yourself in the other person. We’re all in this together and we’re one in the same. I use the phrase: “What I wish for you, I wish for myself.”
You don’t have to forget, but forgiveness means that energetically that person, that action, that situation, has no hold over who you are right now.
6. Time isn’t linear
The past, the present and the future are all coexisting. Yes – you read that correctly.
Right now as I am writing these words I might be playing with my Cabbage Patch Doll in 1987 and landing my hover-car at the parking lot at Wholefoods one afternoon in 2030. I send love and energy to past, present and future versions of myself and I highly encourage that you do that for yourself too. You can send energy back in time, you can send it forward into the future too.
Remember: What is appearing now in your physical reality is an echo of what was sparked in the non-physical reality first. Simply put, you can heal your past by living your best life in the present moment. You can heal generations of emotional upheaval by empowering your perspective in this now moment.
It might all sound a little woo-woo, but vibes are a time machine for healing and creating. This magic overrides logic. Don’t think about it for too long or your head might explode!
7. Self-compassion will hug your heart
Ease up on yourself! Tell that tiny and mean voice of scarcity in your mind to shut the fuck up!
You don’t have to get everything perfect. You will make mistakes because you are a human. You will make bad and stupid choices and take wrong turns and they all serve a Divine purpose to get you to where you asked to go. Trust The Universe! Trust the journey. Show yourself some compassion and kindness.
It’s now time to get excited about what you will create and attract in the next 10 years.
Who will you be?
What will you do?
Who will you inspired?
Who will you meet?
What will bring you joy?
Take this time of the year to journal, to reflect, to celebrate, to cry, to release, and to do a happy dance that you made it to 2020! Life is beautiful and so is your soul.
I love you, thank you for being here with me on this wild ride.
