When I left my husband back in 2009 I had no money and over $30,000 of credit card debt.
I was literally on the brink of declaring bankruptcy. It was by far one of the most stressful times in my life.
The constant calls from the bank were really scary. And I knew I’d hit rock bottom when all I had was fifty cents to buy a bag of pasta to feed my children for two nights.
Even though I had written a book called The Power of Influence: The Easy Way to Make Money Online, the cold truth was that I didn’t have any! I had used every last penny to move to Queensland to write the book, and I had no idea how I would dig myself out of the giant emotional and financial hole my failed marriage had created.
However, being the eternal optimist that I am, I still carried in my heart the idea of turning my life around. No matter what, I stayed focussed and kept creating online courses and materials. This is when the initial concept for Adventures In Manifesting was born.
I just knew on an energetic level that if I focused on prosperity it would be better than feeling swamped by the debt.
2010 was an awesome year. I met and fell in love with Sean Patrick Simpson and we founded Älska Publishing. It just so happened that my boyfriend had extremely complimentary business skills so we decided to create our company based on everything that we loved about online entrepreneurialism.
To make a long story short, I’ve gone from the brink of bankruptcy to my company turning over a steady 6-figure income in our first year as an incorporated entity.
The secret is to allow your abundance mindset to blossom and to look beyond all seeming limitations.
Here are some little tips I’ve used along the way…
Buy yourself a wallet/purse you love

I recently had mine stolen, so I went out and bought a really lovely pink Wayne Cooper wallet. I feel really good about it. If you have an old tatty purse/wallet with broken zips it’s not sending the right message to the Universe that you are in the right space to receive funds.
Keep your money and cards in order

Australian money is so pretty, so it’s easy to make sure it all sits flat and in a nice order. Make sure that your cards are all in easily accessible places and that you have a section for coins, notes, cards and receipts (to keep track of your expenses).
Always keep $100 on you and mentally spend it
This is an amazing process outlined in ‘Ask and It Is Given’ by Abraham Hicks. The Universe doesn’t know the difference between what is energetically imagined and actually happening. The true ‘Secret’ of the Law of Attraction is to act as if your objects or situations of desire have already happened.
Go on mental shopping sprees and feel good about the ‘pretend’ money you’re spending.
If this concept sounds a bit ‘out there’ – read this.
Save all of your coins
Create an abundance bucket! Sometimes I look down the back of the couch or in my handbags and I always find about $100 in coins. These little pieces of prosperity can come in handy when you need them, so you should keep them all in the one place. Create your own wishing well with them!
Create a bank account just for prosperity and things you love
Open up a bank account that is just for you. All of the funds you save in there are for you to treat yourself to things you love. Call it your ‘self-love account’ and put money aside to play with. This separates all of the dutiful funds that go towards day-to-day living expenses (which you should feel good about anyway).
Read success stories and tap into the energy of abundance
I was about 16 when I started reading self-help/metaphysical books. In fact they are still my favourite thing to read and publish! There’s an amazing energy about reading the success stories of others. It shows that if they can achieve something then you can too. The most common theme that all abundantly successful people have going on in their hearts and minds is gratitude.

Great tips!
I’m really enjoying listening to “Create Financial Abundance” hypnotherapy audio at the moment by Glenn Harrold http://www.glennharrold.com as it works very much on the unconscious mind where we store all our limiting beliefs and thoughts. It starts me off in a very positive space for the day.
Michelle, I used to listen to this one by Kelly Howell – http://www.brainsync.com/shop/the-secret-universal-mind-meditation.html – it’s really cool. I’ll have to check our Glenn Harrold’s work
xx
What a great read Sarah…… after reading your article I realised that I’m instinctively doing some of those things already!!……. The universe really makes your desires come true!
Thanks so much Sandra. That’s really great that you’re doing some of those things mentioned already!
Well Said Sarah, A good bunch of tips. Your right. In this day of funds transfer we sometimes get into the habit of not carrying around much cash. When we look into our wallets/purse and see we ran out of notes or there are just coins it doesnt feel good. This “feeling’ is not what we want. So i agree always have cash on you especially the bigger notes and it feels better. Feeling better attracts more as you know.

Awesome tips!!
Thank you Sarah! I definitely need to get a new wallet, this one has been 4 years old and falling apart. First step towards prosperity! x
That’s so great to hear! xx
I love this post. Thankyou so much, Sarah! I’ve been really focusing on my abundance attitude lately and leaning more and more. I love your tips. Some of them I was already doing, but I really hadn’t pushed myself to organize my wallet. I realised as I read this that I often think I should when I go to it when I’m out, but it goes to the back of mind later. Off to do now.
Thankyou x
Thanks for your lovely comment Kate. I’m so glad the post triggered and sparked some inspiration for you about attracting prosperity. xoxo
